Collective Skin Care is a skin spa specializing in facials, acupuncture and cosmetic acupuncture. We are a studio space located on the second floor of cult beauty store BeautyMark providing customized treatments with the Dermalogica and Tata Harper skincare lines. As we are a single room skin spa, we can only accommodate one treatment at a time, which means you’ll have our undivided expert attention.
Kathryn has over 16 years of experience in the skincare and spa industry. She graduated with honours and an internationally recognized CIDESCO diploma from the Dominelli International College of Esthetics in 2001. She began her career in the Kitsilano staple Beverly’s the Spa on 4th where her passion for skincare was further nurtured and developed. In 2005, Kathryn was afforded the opportunity to manage and develop Spruce Body Lab, a highly regarded skin spa and massage therapy clinic. Kathryn’s skill set was greatly enhanced through her eight years at Spruce Body Lab which uniquely prepared her for her next journey of creating and developing Collective Skin Care where she is the premier provider of Tata Harper and Dermalogica facials.
Kathryn’s hobbies include yoga, snowboarding, running, reading and writing. She has been cited in publications such as Lou Lou, The Vancouver Sun, and Montecristo for her skin care expertise.
My curiosity in medicine and natural health, lead me to find my true passion in an alternative medicine known as Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). The thought of never ending opportunities gave me strength to continue on a five year doctorate diploma program in Vancouver. I became a registered acupuncturist with the Association of TCM Practitioners of BC (CTCMA) in early 2008. I have extensive experience in clinical practice for the treatment and management of all types of pain and injuries, arthritis, sciatica, stress, weight control issues, sleeping problems, etc.
During 2012-2013, I completed extensive training and certification in the advanced program of Sports Medicine Acupuncture in Boston. This places me at the highest level of qualification as an Acupuncturist in orthopaedic assessment, treatment & prevention of most musculoskeletal injuries due to sports activities, postural and muscle imbalances, etc.
I am certified in Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture (cosmetic acupuncture) as well as Facial Rejuvenation Massage/Acupressure.
Growing up, my family traveled around the world; this has given me enormous exposure to a variety of cultures. I have lived in and visited many countries in Asia, Europe, Central and North America. My passions include experiencing and learning new things as well as exploring and traveling to more beautiful places in the world. I love sports, food and helping others maintain a healthy life style.
Remember “youth, beauty, happiness, balance and a healthy long life” all are driven from within!
If you have any general health concerns, aches or pains or even if you just want to look and feel younger and more energized, I’d be more than happy to help.
